The Department for International Trade ("DIT") has launched its call for projects on 5th September 2017 in Glasgow, as part of a UK wide campaign to bring forward real estate, regeneration and infrastructure projects to meet investment demand and attract external capital to Scotland.Projects that will be promoted by DIT to meet international investor criteria will must have a value of >£100M, and have a credible business case. The DIT, in partnership with Scottish Development International and the Scottish Cities Alliance, will undertake a review process to ensure that projects meet investor criteria, and once investor credibility has been established, the DIT will engage with investors and help to match investors to projects.

The approach has already been undertaken elsewhere in the United Kingdom, notably in the Northern Powerhouse and Midlands Enginehttps://www.gov.uk/government/publications/northern-powerhouse-investment-opportunitieshttps://www.gov.uk/government/publications/midlands-engine-investment-portfolio
