New OJEU thresholds for the New Year

The European Commission has published new thresholds for the application of the for the Public Contract, Concessions and Utilities Directives 2014.

The thresholds are revalued, in Euros, every two years. For those member states which have not adopted the Euro, the Commission applies a conversion formula to the revised Euros figure to arrive at a figure expressed in terms of the national currency.

The new values are relevant to all public procurement exercises which commence on or after 1 January 2018, and are expected to apply for a two year period.

Public buyers should note, overall, the thresholds are slightly, but not significantly, higher than at present.
