Southern Water launches £250m framework competition for suppliers

Southern Water has invited contractors to express interest in joining its £250M non infrastructure framework.

The initial term will run for 39 months, straddling the remainder of Asset Management Period (AMP) 7 (2020 – 2025) and the first year of AMP 8 (2025 – 2030).

If required, the framework will be extended for another 57 months, agreed annually, which could be worth up to £400M dependent on the level of funding committed for AMP 8.

Individual programmes of work will range in value between £100,000 and £10M+, with most sitting in the middle of this range.

Works will include:

  • Pre-construction survey and investigation, design, civils, process, mechanical, electrical, controls and instrumentation projects

  • Capital asset maintenance schemes

  • Support and delivery of emerging needs which may include new build installations.

  • Environmental improvement programmes.

  • New build and planned asset improvements to pumping stations

  • Mechanical, electrical and control works

  • Security (SEMD) works

  • Water, waste water and sludge process improvement works

The framework is divided into four lots. Contractors can submit tenders for all of them but will only be awarded a maximum of one.

Requests to participate can be submitted until 12 May, with invitations to tender to between four and 15 contractors.
